In a desperate attempt to outgrow my inner tantrums and rants, I will be letting them go – here, apparently. I will, however, do my best to keep them thoughtful and interesting. I have a tendency to be neurotic and hyper-conceptual, and most of my inner-foot stomping pertains to ways that everyday, family events pertain to big world issues, and vis a versa – or at least they seem to at the time! I stress about my kids (I have two, and also their dad) and the world they in which they live more than anything else, and I tend to view those things through a very ‘big picture’ lens. Oh, and I worry about everything, although I try to the utmost of my ability to allow my children to dance blithely on their way, blissfully ignorant that I am terrified I made the wrong choice. Which choice? Oh, all of them. You know.

Please, please, please keep posting! I fully and wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve written (especially the posts pertaining to immigration), although I am no where near as eloquent as you are. I only stumbled upon your blog while attempting to do research for a paper for my Public Affairs class. Forgive me, but I was wondering what your degree(s) are in.

Thanks! I have a B.A. with a major in International Studies and an area certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. I am working towards a master’s in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. I intend to post more regularly again now that Fall break is over. *Whew!
